BENGALS NOTEBOOK
Coslet on the case
BY GEOFF HOBSON
The Cincinnati Enquirer
GEORGETOWN, Ky. Coach Bruce Coslet, trying to keep the up-beat tempo of Camp Urgency, scolded his team for the first time on the field Friday. He didn't like the way they straggled out of the lock er room for skills Friday morning in preparation for afternoon practice.
Coslet appeared to think his team had lost its edge and was looking ahead to today's scrimmage. He called them into a huddle after the first few minutes of skills.
BLAKE IMPROVING: Quarterback Jeff Blake's strained tendon in his throwing index finger is improving, but the pain continues to come and go.
It hurts whenever it gets hit, but it doesn't bother him taking snaps. The key, he says, is not to back away quickly from center, when the ball can jam a finger instead of hitting the palm of the hands.
