LONG BEACH, N.Y. - Matt O'Dwyer of the Cincinnati Bengals and former University of Cincinnati star Jason Fabini were among three NFL players arrested Saturday after an altercation in a Long Beach bar and a scuffle with police.

O'Dwyer, 26; Fabini, 24; and John “Jumbo” Elliot, 34, were drinking in the bar when they became rowdy around 3 a.m. and were arrested, said Lt. Joseph Kearnes.

O'Dwyer, who signed a two-year, $2.7 million contract with the Bengals three weeks ago, kicked out a window of a police cruiser, sending glass into the faces of the arresting officers, Kearnes said.

He was charged with two counts of felony assault and was released on $50,000 bail.

Team president and general manager Mike Brown, reached at his home Saturday, knew little of the incident. “I don't have full enough knowledge to make an intelligent comment at this time,” Brown said. “These things, when they occur, are problems that people have to deal with on their own, and I'm sure Matt will do that.”

Fabini and Elliot play for the New York Jets, and O'Dwyer was a former teammate.

Elliot, was charged with disorderly conduct, public lewdness, harassment and assault and was released on $10,000 bail.

Fabini was charged with disorderly conduct and was released on $100 bail.

The three are scheduled to appear in court Monday morning.
