Dishman offered contract

Don't fit Cris Dishman for a Bengals uniform just yet.

Cincinnati made the 12-year cornerback an offer Tuesday, but it wasn't the $1 million-plus deal that agent Ed Sewell said he has on the table from another team.

After signing cornerback Corey Sawyer to a three-year contract averaging about $600,000 a year, the Bengals don't want to give Dishman much more.

Sawyer's salary-cap count for 1999 is about $466,000 with a $200,000 signing bonus and a $400,000 salary in figures reported to the NFL Management Council. Sawyer is scheduled to make $500,000 next year and $600,000 in 2001.

Dishman visited Kansas City last week and Cincinnati on Monday and plans to go to Minnesota next Monday.
