Ambrose: McNeil offer doesn't scare me

BY GEOFF HOBSON
The Cincinnati Enquirer

Ashley Ambrose gave the Bengals no indication Wednesday he's ready to come back into the fold after they offered Rams cornerback Ryan McNeil a similar $3 million-per-yer deal.

“That's not going to scare me,” Ambrose said of the McNeil offer. “I'm not going to budge and I guess they're not going to budge. If you compare what I've done for the last three years here to what McNeil's done, I just can't figure that out.”

Ambrose said he may visit Tenneessee next week, but he also said he could make a decision by the end of the week.

McNeil's agent is trying to set up a visit with the Bengals, but the NFL meetings next week are putting a crimp into the plans.

McNeil, Ambrose and Darrien Gordon are the best corners left on the market, with the Bengals are targeting Ambrose and McNeil.
