Round 4: DT Glen Steele
Pick: Sixth (105th overall) School: Michigan Size: 6-foot-3, 295 pounds Position: Defensive tackle History: Former tight end who moved to the defensive line as a redshirt freshman. Only Mark Messner (36, 1985-88) has more sacks in Wolverine history than Steele's 24. Finished third in Michigan history with 45 tackles for loss, behind only Messner (70) and Curtis Greer (48, 1976-79). 1997: Named first-team All-Big Ten and All-America by American Football Coaches Association. Started 11 games at weakside defensive end. Accumulated seven sacks, including two each against Colorado, Ohio State and Penn State. Also recovered a fumble against the Buckeyes. Projection: Vacancy created by John Copeland's ruptured Achilles tendon will allow Steele to compete at defensive end. He'll also be tried at nose tackle. Has demonstrated enough strength and leverage to suggest that he can be a threat at either spot.
