Ticket prices
Bengals tickets in several areas increased by $3:
  • Loge reserved: (to $34)
  • Field level ($38)
  • Plaza ($42)
  • Loge box ($42)
  • Club: ($46)
  • Stadium club seats increased by $5 to $42, but the folding chairs were replaced with fixed seating.
  • The Bengals don't know whether Boomer Esiason, Dan Wilkinson or Darnay Scott will return next season, but they are still increasing ticket prices.

The team announced Friday an across-the-board increase in prices that raised costs for most seats by $3. The Bengals, one of only seven NFL teams not to raise prices a year ago, last increased prices after the 1995 season.

Cincinnati's average ticket price rose to $38.14 from $35.10, which was $6.47 below the NFL average. Bengals ticket prices are expected to remain among the least expensive in the league after other teams adjust their 1998 prices.

Bengals President and General Manager Mike Brown said, ''The reality of our game is that costs continue to soar, and with our limited revenue capacity in our current stadium, this increase is unfortunately necessary.''

The increase also stemmed from the Bengals' 1993 agreement with the city of Cincinnati, which ordered the team to raise prices to keep pace with inflation.

The Bengals are scheduled to move into Paul Brown Stadium, which is expected to provide more revenue through sales of club seats and luxury boxes, in the year 2000.
